Established in 1954 as Sylvan Knob Ski Area, Treetops Resort has since invested decades into expanding its ski hills and lodging options, and building a solid reputation as the premier golf destination in the Midwest. Where is Treetops Resort?
Treetops Resort is located in Gaylord, the heart of northern Michigan. Our main property is just three miles east of the I-75 corridor.

Can you tell me more about Treetops Resort skiing?
As soon as there is an adequate base, the ski area at Treetops opens for the season. This usually occurs around Thanksgiving. Our ski season typically ends in March. Our ski hill features 23 downhill runs, ranging from easy to expert. Three chairlifts and a magic carpet make for a quick trek back to the top of the hill for the next run.
