Tennis
For those who enjoy tennis or other racquet sports, Treetops Resort has tennis courts available on-property for resort guests. Additional tennis courts are available nearby at Powerhouse Gym and Otsego County Community Center.
Volleyball
Treetops Resort also provides guests free access to the on-property volleyball courts– no court reservations required. No need to worry about packing the volleyball; just head on over to the front desk and our team will be happy to lend you one. The courts are located between our Sports Bar and our Convention Center.
Kayaking & Paddle Sports
Just an easy day trip from Treetops Resort is Au Sable River: the perfect spot for kayaking in Northern Michigan. The calm river is beginner-friendly, and there’s a strong chance you’ll see deer, blue herons, ducks, and more while you’re traveling down the river. There are two different launch sites available, and both offer rental equipment and shuttle rides.
Swimming
There are plenty of nearby places to splash around if you’re looking to cool off and enjoy a swim. The beautiful Pigeon River Country State Forest has multiple sinkhole lakes where you can take a dip surrounded by woodsy nature. For families looking for spaces where little ones can play in the sand, Otsego Lake is a hidden gem. Its waters are shallow and sandy-bottomed, so you can safely enjoy being in the water. The resort also hosts indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs, so water is never too far away.
Tips for Planning a Festive Summer Stay in Northern Michigan
