9th Annual Alpenfrost
Welcome to the 8th Annual Alpenfrost!
For several years, Gaylord celebrated a Winterfest event, spearheaded by local business-men Jim Lappan and Dave Baragrey, that included an ice fishing derby, ice and snow sculpture events, kids games, contests and more. Alpenfrost is a rebirth and evolution of this exciting winter celebration in downtown Gaylord, combining anchor events such as The Frosty Plunge and a Craft Beer and Wine Festival at Treetops Resort, with a flurry of downtown activities, games and merchant sales. Worthy of vintage Norman Rockwell painting, the Alpine Village will unveil an open-air ice skating rink on the Courthouse lawn during Alpenfrost.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2019:
8:00 – 5:00pm:  ALPENFROST WELCOME TRAILER located in front of the courthouse on Main Street. Visit us here to purchase Alpenfrost pins, pick up schedules, and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa!
8:00 – 5:00pm:  SNOW SLIDE AND SWISS ALPS EXCAVATION on the courthouse lawn. Pick up your excavating tools at the Welcome Trailer.
8:00am: FROSTY 5K REGISTRATION at the Visitor’s Center, 319 W. Main St.
9:00am:  FROSTY 5K under the pavilion. Awards and refreshments following in the Visitor’s Center, 319 W. Main St.
9:00 – 5:00pm:  CRAFT SHOW & ALPENFROST MERCHANDISE SALES on the upper level of the Community Center, 315 S Center Ave.
11:00 – 1:00pm:  SOUP COOK-OFF located in downtown businesses
12:00 – 3:00pm:  HORSE CARRIAGE RIDES transporting people from the Community Center to downtown under the pavilion.
2:00pm:Â ALPENFROST QUEEN & LITTLE MISS PAGEANTÂ in the Community Center, 315 S Center Ave.
3:00pm:Â Â GUIDED SNOWSHOE HIKEÂ at Otsego Resort, 696 E M-32
